The Mediterranean, reimagined in California

Chef Sofia Reyes grew up eating grilled fish in Barcelona and smashed avocado in Malibu. At Casa Verde, she doesn't choose between the two — she celebrates both.

Opened in 2021 on Sunset Boulevard, Casa Verde is the restaurant Echo Park always deserved: loud music, natural wine, wood-fire smoke, and fresh ingredients from the Hollywood Farmers Market every Saturday morning. We're open late. Come as you are.


Sofia Reyes Chef & Co-Owner

Born in Barcelona, raised in Los Angeles. Trained under José Andrés before opening Casa Verde with partner Nadia Okafor.

Good to Know

Stuff you actually want to ask

Do I need a reservation?

Not required, but smart on Friday and Saturday after 6:30. The patio and bar are first-come, first-served — we always keep a few seats open for walk-ins. We hold reserved tables for 15 minutes past the quoted time.

Where do I park in Echo Park?

Street parking on Sunset and Echo Park Avenue is metered until 8pm and free after. The Vons lot two blocks west is open evenings. Validated valet is on the corner Thursday through Sunday from 5pm.

Vegan, gluten-free, allergies?

About a third of the menu is plant-based and most dishes can be made gluten-free with a heads-up. Tell your server about any allergy and Sofia will adjust the plate or build you something off-menu. We share a kitchen with wheat and nuts, so we can't guarantee zero cross-contact.

Is the patio dog-friendly?

Yes — the back patio welcomes well-behaved dogs. We keep a water bowl by the host stand. Inside is reserved for service dogs.

Can you handle a private event?

Buyouts run 30–80 guests; partial buyouts of the patio or the bar room run 12–25. Family-style menus from $65/person. Email hola@casaverdela.com and we'll send a quick proposal within a day.

What's the noise level?

Lively. The dining room runs around 75 dB on a Saturday — fun, not quiet. If you want a calmer table, ask for the patio or come before 6:30 on a weeknight.
